This one is simple, sturdy and has very mean and long spike end to test inside slab of meat or poultry. The response is about 2 seconds slower the "fancy" boy I had prior but I will take it over durability. There are only 2 buttons - one for switching from Celsius to Fahrenheit and one for On and Off. Battery compartment is well sealed and this is another plus. If you ask me, I do not care much if food thermometer tells me when is going to be the next Full Moon or high tide, so I take this one with all my heart as the thermometer of choice. Contraction is simple: stainless probe, stainless body, hard plastic (no rubber) sealed buttons, with ceramics insulation on top and bottom. Hail the logic here!
