Professional Industrial Instant Read Digital Infrared Thermometer with Built-in laser + Type K TC input for interchangeable type K probes (Electronics) I bought this tool to check the temperatures on my wood stove. I could have bought a dedicated thermostat but this tool is faster and I can use it for more than just the wood stove. I have used it to look at the temperature difference between the outside walls and the inside walls. My furnace thermostat is mounted on an inside wall and the temerature difference is at least 5 degrees which means heat is flowing into my exterior walls. I noticed its not the same everywhere so it gives me an idea of where I have to spend money on insulation and/or caulk. I have used it to determine what temperature the pan has to be to make a perfect omlette and what the stove must be set at( med, medlow etc ). The burner gets very hot but the surface of the pan is only a fraction of that and it changes from perfect to hot if you do not watch it.
