Other brands say they are waterproof, but as soon as you drop them in custard, they are ruined. Not the case here since it go in the dishwasher. The only thing I would change is the top end... it doesn't really attach to the case to make for a way to hold it to the side, so your hand is away from the steam. I really recommend this thermometer!
